![]() ![]() Pulmonary inflammation, depression, anemia, wicked joint pain (usually in the jaw or lower limbs). I'm constantly fatigued (more than anyone things appropriate for a twenty year old - "you're too young to be that tired"). The rash started on my body, but can be found on my face now too, always high on the cheekbones and across my nose. I always take pictures and have them ready to show my doctor. The rash was the most prominent, at least in the beginning. Over the last year, I've showed several symptoms. I got the blood work done and took them to another rheum, one who had a little better reputation. I had gotten an ANA done by the allergist, but it had come back negative. The first one I saw wasn't someone I was comfortable with, but he did refill my Prednisone (which was the only thing keeping the rash and breathing troubles at bay) and ordered multiple blood tests. It took me until March to get in with a rheum. ![]() I had heard 'autoimmune disease' in passing, but no one had suspected it because, other than the rash, I wasn't showing any symptoms. I was given steroids, and a recommendation to see a rheumatologist. In January of 2015, I ended up in the ER not being able to breathe. ![]() I finally went to a doctor, who referred me to an allergist. No allergy medication helped, and topical creams wouldn't even touch it (OTC and RX). In the fall of 2014, I began to get these awful hives all over my body. For a little background, I am a twenty year old female. At least, that is, getting my doctor to take me seriously, I feel. My struggle has been silent for the last year and a half and I'm so happy to finally have people who face the same things I do!Ĭurrently, I am facing the 'diagnosis struggle'. I'm new here, so please excuse me if I get anything wrong! This is the first autoimmune disease support group I've come upon, and I'm relieved beyond words. ![]()
